Soccer Game Preview: New Waverly vs. Navasota

The New Waverly Bulldogs will take on the Navasota Rattlers at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. New Waverly's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

New Waverly was handed a five-goal defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Harmony School of Innovation a 1-0 shutout. The Bulldogs' winning goal came courtesy of Maryn Cook.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Navasota's offense. They came up short against Sealy on Friday, falling 8-0. The loss continues a trend for the Rattlers in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Navasota's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11-1. As for New Waverly, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-7-1.

New Waverly skirted past Navasota 1-0 when the teams last played back in February. Does New Waverly have another victory up their sleeve, or will Navasota turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
