Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ellwood City). They blew past the Riverside Panthers, posting a 48-18 win. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Tyler Smiley had an outrageously good game as he threw for 297 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 13.5 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 45 yards. Those five passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. DaiLonn Currie also helped with two TDs in total.

Ellwood City didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tyler Amicone and Dom Dinucci.

The victory got Ellwood City back to even at 4-4. As for Riverside, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 4-4.
