Basketball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Community Leadership Academy's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Community Leadership Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They had just enough and edged the FAMU DRS Baby Rattlers out 64-61. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Community Leadership Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Bowman Holloway out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. Holloway has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times he's played. Owen Brown was another key player, putting up 16 points and five assists.

When it comes to explaining why FAMU DRS lost, don't look at Jamin Bryant. Despite the final result, he went 5 of 11 on his way to 15 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Cromer, who went 5 for 11 en route to 11 points.

Community Leadership Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.4 points per game. As for FAMU DRS, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-11.

Community Leadership Academy has already played their next game, a 69-49 victory against Wakulla on the 13th. As for FAMU DRS, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 59-49 defeat against Blountstown on the 13th.
