Perryville extended the longest winning streak in Upper Chesapeake Bay - Susquehanna this week by beating Rising Sun, 44-3. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Panthers.
Edgewood was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in the league. The Rams vanquished the Rams 26-20 earlier in the week.
Perryville's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Elijah Johnson threw for 88 yards and Brian Matthews had 121 yards receiving. On the ground Joe Peaker chipped in 128 yards. Ethan Griffen helped Perryville's passing attack out by catching three balls for 27 yards.
Perryville's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Panthers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Johnson has thrown for 760 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Matthews has 16 catches for 429 yards. Peaker leads the league in rushing with 1031 yards.
A big matchup in Upper Chesapeake Bay - Susquehanna this week will be when Edgewood takes on Chris Johnson's team. As it stands, Fred Myers' team is in fifth, while the Panthers are in first.
