Baseball Recap: Sigourney Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Sigourney entered their tilt with Belle Plaine on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Plainsmen 17-1. The result was nothing new for the Savages, who have now won 14 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Sigourney pushed their record up to 16-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.1 runs over those games. As for Belle Plaine, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sigourney will venture away from home to square off against Iowa Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Savages surely won't give up without a fight. As for Belle Plaine, they will square off against English Valleys at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Plainsmen are facing the Bears at the right time seeing as the Bears are stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
