Baseball Game Preview: Ribault Trojans vs. Riverside Generals

Ribault hasn't had much luck against Riverside recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Ribault will head out on the road to take on Riverside at 6:30 p.m. Ribault has given up an average of 8.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Ribault after they put the first points on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Atlantic Coast, falling 14-4.

Ribault saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Morales, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Morales is becoming a predictor of Ribault's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-2 (and 2-6 when he doesn't). Another was Braylin Clarke, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Riverside's offense. They lost 10-0 to Covenant School of Jacksonville on Friday. The Generals just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Riverside's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Ribault, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Ribault has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .476. However, it's not like Riverside struggles in that department as they've averaged .471. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Everything went Ribault's way against Riverside in their previous meeting back in March, as Ribault made off with a 17-4 win. Will Ribault repeat their success, or does Riverside has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
