Softball Recap: Granby Extends Winning Streak to Three

Granby had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the Camden County Bruins. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Comets have posted since March 26th.

The result came thanks to Kyrsten Wells's shutout, as she gave up just five hits.

At the plate, Granby saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anwynn Williams, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Granby hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive games.

Granby's record is now 9-4. As for Camden County, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Granby will welcome Greenbrier Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Camden County, they will host Manteo at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Bruins have won four straight at home, while the Redskins won seven straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
