Football Recap: Wayne Valley Takes Down Ranked Wayne Hills

Wayne Valley faced Wayne Hills in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Indians' defense stepped up to hand the Patriots a 19-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Indians also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

The critical scores for Wayne Valley came from Sophia Biroc, Taylor Tielemans, and Sophia Benacquista.

Wayne Valley has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 2.8 points on average over those games. As for Wayne Hills, they dropped their record down to 2-4 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Wayne Valley will welcome Montville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs' defense has only allowed 7.6 points per game this season, so the Indians' offense will have their work cut out for them. Wayne Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
