Basketball Game Preview: Francis W. Parker Colonels vs. IC Catholic Prep Knights

The Francis W. Parker Colonels will square off against the IC Catholic Prep Knights at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. Francis W. Parker has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Francis W. Parker is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with an 81-68 victory over Southland College Prep on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Colonels as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

It was another big night for Brady Harris, who went 10 of 16 en route to 26 points in addition to six steals and five rebounds. Those 26 points gave him a new career-high. Miles Johnson was another key player, going 5 for 12 on his way to 14 points along with seven boards and seven steals.

Meanwhile, IC Catholic Prep waltzed into their contest on Friday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They strolled past the Spartans with points to spare, taking the game 60-43. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Spartans are ranked 247th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

IC Catholic Prep's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-2. As for Francis W. Parker, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.

Francis W. Parker came up short against IC Catholic Prep in their previous meeting back in February of 2020, falling 77-72. Can Francis W. Parker avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
