Timnath took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They came out on top against the Liberty Common Eagles by a score of 69-58. For the Cubs, this counts as revenge for the 55-50 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2024.

Jack Hemme had a dynamite game, shooting 56% from the field to rack up 25 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Those 25 points gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Davis Walter, who went 5-for-10 en route to 12 points.

Timnath smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Liberty Common only pulled down five offensive rebounds.

Grayson Clay and Caiden Castillo certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Clay shot 64% from the field on his way to 18 points, while Castillo posted 14 points in addition to five assists and five boards. Castillo is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 56% in the last five games he's played dating back to last season. Solen Castillo was another key player, putting up eight points and eight rebounds.

Having lost for the first time this season, Liberty Common fell to 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Timnath will face off against Northridge at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. This will be the Cubs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Liberty Common, they will square off against Estes Park at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
