Basketball Recap: Pleasant Valley Vikings vs. Enterprise Hornets
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Pleasant Valley can now relate to. They took a 60-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Enterprise Hornets on Wednesday. The Vikings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hornets earlier this season, when they won 63-42.
Enterprise's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Deshawn Townsend led the charge by shooting 67% from the field en route to 23 points and six assists. Those six assists gave Townsend a new career-high. Izeah Mikell was another key player, going 5-for-9 on his way to 10 points in addition to six boards and three steals.
Pleasant Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 17-11. As for Enterprise, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-12.
Looking ahead, Pleasant Valley will head out to take on King's Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (King's Academy has won seven straight at home, while Pleasant Valley won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Enterprise, they have already played their next game, a 61-55 loss against Foothill on the 1st.
