Baseball Recap: Acadiana Christian Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Defenders can now relate to. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Acadiana Christian Lions on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Lions this season, with their most recent loss being a 13-0 defeat back in March.

The Defenders saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dawson Claudet, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Claudet has become a key player for the Defenders: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Another was John 'Hudson' Miller, who scored a run and stole a base.

The Defenders' loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for the Lions, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

As of now, neither the Defenders nor the Lions have any future games scheduled.
