Basketball Recap: Woodlawn Trailblazers vs. North Hills Christian Eagles
Woodlawn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt an 85-25 loss at the hands of the North Hills Christian Eagles. The Trailblazers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-16.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Hills Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Reese Merrell, who almost dropped a triple-double on 23 points, nine assists, and 12 steals. That's the most points Merrell has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellison Dendy, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten steals.
Woodlawn's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for North Hills Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
Woodlawn is taking a road trip to take on Cornerstone Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for North Hills Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sheets Memorial Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
