The Inter-City Baptist Chargers are taking a road trip to square off against the Parkway Christian Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Inter-City Baptist will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Lutheran on Thursday. The Chargers were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Warriors.
Brooke Anthony was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off nine hits. Anthony was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chloe Smith, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, four stolen bases, and five runs. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. Lily Brown also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.
Meanwhile, Parkway Christian hadn't done well against Clarenceville recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Thursday. The Eagles blew past the Trojans 19-4. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 4, 2023, but that streak is no more.
Parkway Christian got a massive performance out of Josie Boutorwick, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. With that strong performance, Boutorwick is now averaging an impressive 2.1 runs per game. Hayden Baker was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI and two runs.
Inter-City Baptist is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for Parkway Christian, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Parkway Christian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Inter-City Baptist has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. It's a different story for Parkway Christian, though, as they've been averaging 9.8 hits. Given Inter-City Baptist's sizable advantage in that area, the Eagles will need to find a way to close that gap.
Inter-City Baptist took their victory against Parkway Christian when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 16-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
