The Melbourne Central Catholic Hustlers will take on the Merritt Island Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Melbourne Central Catholic will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
Melbourne Central Catholic had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 20-run drubbing they dealt Satellite on Monday. The Hustlers blew past the Scorpions 21-1. The Hustlers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.
Madelynn Prayto and Lilly Rollinger made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Prayto pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Rollinger pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Prayto has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in ten consecutive appearances. At bat, Prayto scored two runs while going 1-for-3, while Rollinger went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Rollinger a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Merritt Island never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They skirted past Rockledge 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted since April 23, 2024.
The result came thanks to Rindi Amos's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Elena Rollen, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Alyssa Abbott was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases.
Melbourne Central Catholic's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Merritt Island, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Melbourne Central Catholic hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .362. However, it's not like Merritt Island struggles in that department as they've averaged .323. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
