Basketball Recap: Grenada Skates Past Winona with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grenada). They claimed a resounding 68-22 victory over the Winona Tigers. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Leading Grenada to victory were Carlei Brown and Elyse Dorris. Brown dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds, while Dorris posted ten points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Dorris has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 31 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Addyson White, who had eight points and three steals.

Grenada was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Grenada now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Winona, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grenada will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Lake Cormorant at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Winona, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eupora at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
