Football Game Preview: Yazoo County vs. Humphreys County

Yazoo County have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. On Friday they take on Humphreys County at Homecoming at 7:00 PM. If you head out to watch the game, expect to stay the whole 48 minutes: the MaxPreps rankings predict a close match.

After having lost a blowout in their contest three weeks ago against Velma Jackson, Yazoo County were happy to find some success two weeks ago. Yazoo County came out on top against Raymond by a score of 12-0. The win was a breath of fresh air for Yazoo County as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 50 points the game before, Humphreys County faltered in their game last Friday. They were given a punishing 6-66 loss at the hands of Simmons. Humphreys County were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 6-38.

Yazoo County's victory lifted them to 2-3 while Humphreys County's defeat dropped them down to 2-4. In their victory, Yazoo County relied heavily on junior Kory Gainwell, who rushed for 183 yards and 1 touchdown. Humphreys County will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
