Cristo Rey picks up sixth straight win at home

The Cristo Rey Royals scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They came out on top against Veritas Collegiate Academy by a score of 87-79. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Veritas Collegiate Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Marcqell Freeman, who scored 24 points along with four steals. Freeman hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Koren Jones, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 0 assists.

Cristo Rey's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-11. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.2 points per game. As for Veritas Collegiate Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3.

Cristo Rey will head out on the road to take on Steward at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Steward focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday. As for Veritas Collegiate Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cristo Rey at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
