Football Game Preview: Forreston Cardinals vs. Durand/Pecatonica Rivermen

The Forreston Cardinals will face off against the Durand/Pecatonica Rivermen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Forreston is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Pearl City-Eastland just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They were outmatched by the Wildcats and fell 51-24. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Durand/Pecatonica managed to keep up with Byron until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Rivermen were beaten by the Tigers 42-14. The game marked the Rivermen's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Durand/Pecatonica fell to 5-1. As for Forreston, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Forreston took a serious blow against Durand/Pecatonica when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 54-26. Can the Cardinals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
