Baseball Recap: Washington Takes a Loss

Washington fell victim to Snow Hill and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Jaguars haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Dawson Daniels spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Washington saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Miles, who went 2-for-4 with one double.

Washington's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Snow Hill, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washington will welcome Bennett at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Clippers will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Jaguars surely won't give up without a fight. As for Snow Hill, they will square off against Parkside at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
