Clarion Area extended the longest winning streak in Keystone Shortway - Small this week by beating Punxsutawney, 42-0. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
Clarion Area took down the Chucks 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Union's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brody Shick threw for 89 and one touchdown and Aaron Graham had 132 yards receiving. On the ground Kaden McGregor chipped in 131 yards. McGregor helped Union's passing attack out by catching two balls for 20 yards.
6-foot-0 quarterback Kevin Kaufman of Allegheny-Clarion Valley is the league leader in passing yards this season with 994. He has also thrown eight touchdowns. On the ground, Larry Wiser's team's Damien Slike has rushed for 470 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Graham. The Union star has 14 catches for 381 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Falcons take on the Bobcats. At the moment, Allegheny-Clarion Valley is in third, while Clarion Area is in first.
Clarion-Limestone made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 13,158 from 13,310. The improvement came about via a 28-19 victory over the Lions last week.
