Softball Preview: Fort Cherry Rangers vs. Keystone Oaks Golden Eagles
The Fort Cherry Rangers are headed away from home for the first time to challenge the Keystone Oaks Golden Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fort Cherry comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Fort Cherry fell victim to Avella and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 20-0.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Keystone Oaks, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They blew past Quaker Valley 8-1 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Golden Eagles, who have now won three contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Kailyn Brannon and Amelia Walter did most of the damage at the plate: Brannon scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Walter scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave Walter a new career-high. Nina Buckley was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
