Softball Recap: Newport Harbor Comes Up Short

Newport Harbor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Huntington Beach Oilers, falling 12-2. The Sailors were not able to make up for their loss to the Oilers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Ally Shaw made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Newport Harbor's defeat dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Huntington Beach, they pushed their record up to 18-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Oilers beat Newport Harbor by a score of 13-1 later that day.
