Basketball Recap: Kelly Takes a Loss

Kelly lost against Crane Medical back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Kelly Trojans took a blow against the Crane Medical Cougars, falling 108-9. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 541st, while the Cougars are ranked 122nd).

Kelly got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Daeja West and Sasha Arriaga Morales, who each put up three points.

Kelly has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. As for Crane Medical, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4.

Kelly has already played their next contest, a 48-17 defeat against Northside on the 29th. As for Crane Medical, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-36 victory against Proviso East on the 28th.
