Sierra recap October 1, 2013
Claremont moved up to 440 from 506 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Sierra. The Wolfpack climbed the ranks as a result of topping Northwood 40-14.
Claremont took down the Timberwolves 40-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Cecil Fleming ran for 143 yards and caught 2 passes for 57 yards during the win.
Kory Brown provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Charter Oak fell to Glendora. He completed 11 passes for 204 yards and also ran for 14 yards. Brown's key target this week was Justyn Carrillo, who caught 3 passes for 81 yards.
Adam Goss was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 18 carries, he ran for 166 yards as South Hills lost to the Tartans. Teammate Garrett Fonseca added to the ground attack by rushing for 17 yards.
Charter Oak's Brown and Donavin Washington led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Brown has thrown for 1,222 yards this season, while Washington, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 30 catches for 467 yards. Mike Collins' team's Fleming leads the league in rushing yards with 561.
