Basketball Recap: Alief Taylor Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Pomalo Ganda and Sean Kongolo

The Alief Taylor Lions lost 72-52 to the Royse City Bulldogs on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 777th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 369th).

Alief Taylor's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sean Kongolo, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 13 points, and Pomalo Ganda, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 14 points. Those 14 points gave Ganda a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Davion Ridgeway, who posted five points and three steals.

Alief Taylor's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Royse City, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.

Alief Taylor didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-58 win against Texas City on the 27th. As for Royse City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 75-48 victory against Brazoswood on the 27th.
