Soccer Game Preview: Wesleyan vs. Mount Pisgah Christian

The Wesleyan Wolves will take on the Mount Pisgah Christian Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Wesleyan is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.

Wesleyan's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over Mount Vernon. Considering Wesleyan have won ten matchups by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Mount Pisgah Christian and Fellowship Christian meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Patriots came up short against the Paladins, falling 10-0.

Wesleyan pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those six contests. As for Mount Pisgah Christian, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Wesleyan took their victory against Mount Pisgah Christian in their previous matchup back in February of 2022 by a conclusive 6-0 score. Will Wolves repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
