Softball Recap: Pine Prairie Picks Up 16th Straight Win at Home

After losing to Bunkie the last time they met, Pine Prairie decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Everything went Pine Prairie's way against Bunkie on Tuesday as Pine Prairie made off with a 13-4 win. Pine Prairie might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Ella Fontenot was a standout: she scored two runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Josie Vidrine, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Pine Prairie always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bunkie only posted an OBP of .308.

Pine Prairie's victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.1 runs. As for Bunkie, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.
