Volleyball Recap: Scott County Comes Up Short

Scott County was the 3-1 winner over Lafayette when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cardinals fell just short of the Generals by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday.

Scott County took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-22, 17-25, 25-20, 15-10.

Leading Lafayette to victory were Payton Watts and Elise Trimble. Watts had 12 digs and one assist, while Trimble had nine digs, three aces, and one block. Trimble has been hot for a while, having also posted 15 or more assists the last 28 times she's played.

Scott County's defeat dropped their record down to 18-15. As for Lafayette, they pushed their record up to 18-15 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Scott County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lafayette, they will square off against Conner at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
