Baseball Recap: Valor Christian Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Valor Christian can now relate to. They fell just short of the Rocky Mountain Lobos by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by just one run.

Brigham Brown was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Valor Christian is 2-1 when Brown allows one or fewer earned runs, but 9-12 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Trystan Chadwick made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Valor Christian is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-13. As for Rocky Mountain, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-5.
