Baseball Game Preview: Santa Fe Christian Eagles vs. Maranatha Christian Eagles

For the second straight game, Santa Fe Christian will face off against Maranatha Christian. Santa Fe Christian will be playing at home against Maranatha Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Wednesday. Santa Fe Christian took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Maranatha Christian. Santa Fe Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Maranatha Christian's part, Jack Kelly was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Kelly also tossed no walks, which is notable because Maranatha Christian is 5-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-17 otherwise. Kelly was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Beckett Galloway was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Zach Ruiz was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Maranatha Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Maranatha Christian's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-18. As for Santa Fe Christian, they now have a losing record of 11-12.

Santa Fe Christian's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's matchup. Santa Fe Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game.
