Softball Recap: Forreston Takes a Loss

Forreston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat. They came up short against the Durand Bulldogs, falling 11-1. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Forreston saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Sanders, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. Maddie Chesnek also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Forreston's record now sits at 2-15. As for Durand, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5.

Coming up, Forreston will host Hiawatha at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.25 runs per game on average), something the Cardinals will no doubt try to take advantage of. Durand will be paying especially close attention to Forreston's contest: after Forreston faces off against Hiawatha, they'll take on Durand again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
