Football Recap: Space Coast Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Space Coast and American Heritage squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Space Coast had to settle for second. They were dealt a 53-18 loss at the hands of the Stallions. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Vipers, who until this matchup were averaging 13 points allowed.

Despite the defeat, Space Coast saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Zion Sandy threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 82 yards. Kadyn Thomas was in the mix as well, providing the Vipers with two scores.

American Heritage found their leader in sophomore Marcus Stracke, who threw for 354 yards and seven TDs while completing 80% of his passes. Those seven passing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for Stracke. American Heritage's leading receiver Johanthan Cesar was Stracke's top target yet again, picking up 183 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Space Coast's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-2. As for American Heritage, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3.

Space Coast does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for American Heritage, they have already played their next contest, a 51-41 victory against West Nassau on the 21st.
