Baseball Recap: Randolph County Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Randolph County not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 11th. They were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Weaver Bearcats. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Bearcats last Tuesday, they had to take a 13-9 defeat.

The team relied heavily on Creed Blankenship, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He has become a key player for Randolph County: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-16 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ryder Pinson, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

With the victory, Randolph County broke their eight-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-17. As for Weaver, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-15.

Randolph County will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Handley at 4:30 p.m. on April 7. As for Weaver, they will square off against Central of Clay County at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
