Recap: Surry HomeSchool Runnin' Patriots vs. Gospel Light Christian
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against State Line HomeSchool R, the Surry HomeSchool Runnin' Patriots were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Gospel Light Christian and snuck past 36-33. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Surry HomeSchool also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2020.
Despite the loss, Gospel Light Christian still got an impressive performance from Maggie Jo Church, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Church has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Miller, who scored two points along with six steals.
Surry HomeSchool's victory bumped their record up to 16-9. As for Gospel Light Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.
Surry HomeSchool's road trip will continue as they head out to face Alamance Christian at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Surry HomeSchool is facing Alamance Christian at the right time seeing as Alamance Christian is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Gospel Light Christian, they will be playing at home against Union Grove Christian at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in North Carolina (Gospel Light Christian is ranked 342nd, while Union Grove Christian is ranked 367th).
