Preview: Fredonia Hillbillies vs. Salamanca Warriors

The Fredonia Hillbillies will head out on the road to square off against the Salamanca Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fredonia will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 365th, while Salamanca is ranked 176th).

Last Saturday, Fredonia suffered a tough 58-38 loss at the hands of Southwestern.

Meanwhile, Salamanca can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent match on Monday. They claimed a resounding 58-14 win over Dunkirk on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 32-3.

Salamanca relied on the efforts of Lezly Mccomber, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds, and Karina Mireles-crouse, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Mireles-crouse is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Leilene Mccomber, who scored 11 points.

Fredonia's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Salamanca, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

Fredonia ended up a good deal behind Salamanca when the teams last played back in January, losing 53-35. Can Fredonia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
