After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hibriten, Mountain Heritage was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Mitchell Mountaineers with a sharp 12-4 win. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Mountaineers: they've now won nine in a row.

Ella Buchanan spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season.

On the hitting side, Cheyenne Melton was a standout: she scored three runs while going 3-for-4. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Madi Dillinger was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.

Melton wasn't the only one making solid contact: Mountain Heritage kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Mountain Heritage's record now sits at 2-6. As for Mitchell, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
