Softball Recap: Timber Creek's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

Timber Creek fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against East River on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 4-3. The Wolves' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Gabbi Scott spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on ten hits.

At the plate, Timber Creek saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eva Martinez, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Timber Creek's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for East River, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Timber Creek will host Lyman at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for East River, they will be playing at home against Colonial at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Grenadiers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.35 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of.
