Basketball Recap: Maclay Takes Down Rocky Bayou Christian in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Maclay had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past the Rocky Bayou Christian Knights, posting a 67-35 victory. Given the Marauders' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Knights are ranked 661st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Among those leading the charge was Nash Beshears, who posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zeke Podgorski, who scored ten points.

Despite the loss, Rocky Bayou Christian still got an impressive performance from Carver Knapp, who earned 11 points and seven boards. McCabe Olin was another key player, putting up six points.

The win was the fourth in a row for Maclay, bringing their record for this year to 10-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points over those games. As for Rocky Bayou Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.

Maclay has already played their next contest, an 89-56 defeat against University Christian on the 12th. Rocky Bayou Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
