Baseball Recap: Randle Extends Winning Streak to Three

Randle barely beat Fort Bend Kempner the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory on Thursday. The win was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on three straight.

Jasen Gutierrez tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cristian Elizondo, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Whitsitt, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and one run.

Randle kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 10.

Randle's victory bumped their record up to 17-12-2. As for Fort Bend Kempner, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16-1 record this season.

Randle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fort Bend Kempner, they will challenge Victoria East at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Titans have now posted at least ten runs in their last five games.
