Basketball Game Preview: Moorcroft Wolves vs. Tongue River Eagles

Moorcroft is 1-9 against Tongue River since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Moorcroft Wolves will welcome the Tongue River Eagles at 2:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Moorcroft is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They were dealt a 79-38 defeat at the hands of Lead-Deadwood.

Meanwhile, Tongue River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were outmatched by Wright and fell 87-51. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wyoming basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Panthers are ranked eighth).

Tongue River's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Moorcroft, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Moorcroft ended up a good deal behind Tongue River in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, losing 60-45. Can Moorcroft avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
