Basketball Recap: Orono's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

Orono can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They snuck past the Mount Desert Island Trojans with a 61-55 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 56-46 back in December of 2024.

Orono's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Mount Desert Island, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orono will take on Presque Isle at 4:30 p.m. on January 18th. As for Mount Desert Island, they will challenge John Bapst Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
