Volleyball Recap: Yates Has No Trouble Against Furr

Yates won the last time they faced Furr and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Lions put the hurt on the Brahmans with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Yates was especially dominant in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-11, 25-20.

Their offense was headlined by Aaliyah Butler and Zariah Matthews, who picked up six kills apiece. Butler also shared the team's lead in assists with Saniya Crews: they picked up eight each. Matthews was also solid from the service line: she led the team with 13 aces.

Yates is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Furr, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Yates didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Scarborough on the 26th. As for Furr, they will head out to challenge Washington at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
