Volleyball Recap: Clearfield Triumphs

Clearfield won the last time they faced Layton and things went their way on Friday too. The Falcons walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Lancers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

In the three sets Clearfield was on fire: they won each by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-13, 25-15, 25-15.

Sebastian Rodriguez paced Clearfield's offense, picking up 15 kills. Rodriguez got some help from Max Bohman and his 31 assists. Bohman was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Clearfield's win bumped their record up to 15-12. As for Layton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season.

Clearfield and Layton are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Falcons will host Hunter at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Clearfield is facing the Wolverines at the right time seeing as the Wolverines are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Layton, they will head out on the road to take on American Fork at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
