Basketball Game Preview: Bayside Bears vs. Brevard Christian War Eagles

The Bayside Bears will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Brevard Christian War Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Bayside will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Satellite, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Bayside walked away with a 49-40 victory over Satellite on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bears as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Brevard Christian earned a 61-52 victory over Calvary Chapel Academy on Monday.

Bayside better keep an eye on Gabriel Mitchell. He was instrumental in Brevard Christian's win, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 20 rebounds. Mitchell is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Williams, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards.

Brevard Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for Bayside, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-3.
