Southwind extended their winning streak to seven on Friday, bumping them up to 9-3. They walked away with a 60-53 victory over the Fayette Ware Wildcats. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Wildcats are ranked 88th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Southwind to victory were Ronald Towns and Kris Smith. Towns went 7-for-11 on his way to 19 points, while Smith dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten boards. What's more, Smith also posted a 64% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February. Justin Edwards was another key player, putting up nine points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Fayette Ware fell to 7-1. The matchup marked their lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Fayette Ware lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Cash Williams, who posted 18 points and five rebounds. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Kylon Terry, who shot 56% from the field to rack up 15 points along with six boards and three steals.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southwind and Ridgeway will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jaguars are facing the Roadrunners at the right time seeing as the Roadrunners are stuck on a five-game losing streak. Fayette Ware will take on Memphis Home Education Association in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
