Recap: Carl Junction Bulldogs vs. Carthage Tigers
The Carl Junction Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell 59-50 to Carthage. Carl Junction has not had much luck with Carthage recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Carl Junction saw an underclassman step up: Brody Pant scored 14 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Jett Hocut was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds.
Carl Junction now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Carthage, they pushed their record up to 13-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carl Junction will square off against Branson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Carl Junction focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday. As for Carthage, they will head out on the road to take on Nixa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Nixa knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matches -- so hopefully Carthage likes a good challenge.
