Football Recap: Highlands Starts off Right with Win over Frederick Douglass

Highlands gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They slipped by the Frederick Douglass Broncos 21-20.

Highlands' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tayden Lorenzen, who rushed for 47 yards and two touchdowns. Those two rushing touchdowns gave Lorenzen a new career-high. Another pass catcher making a difference was Cale Harris, who picked up 93 receiving yards and one TD.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Highlands is headed away from home for the first time to take on Cooper at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Frederick Douglass, they will head out to challenge Trinity at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
