Baseball Recap: Wright Comes Up Short

Wright was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 12-2 to the Hurley Northstars. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Red Devils have suffered against the Northstars since May 13, 2022.

Wright saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eli Ruotsala, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Wright's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Hurley, they pushed their record up to 7-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, Wright will venture away from home to square off against Ontonagon at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hurley, they will challenge Northland Pines at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Northstars' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
