Africentric Early College entered their tilt with South on Wednesday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They snuck past the South Bulldogs with a 47-41 victory. Given the Nubians' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 350th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

South's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Gavin Griffin, who posted 12 points, and John Glover, who had 11 points.

Africentric Early College pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for South, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Africentric Early College will host West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
